Using Advanced Technology to Personalize Your Physical Therapy Care

VALD Performance Logo
At our clinic, we use advanced technology to better understand how your body moves and performs. One of the tools that helps us do this is the VALD Performance System, an innovative strength-testing platform used by physical therapists and sports medicine professionals around the world. You may have experienced a Physical Therapist testing your strength with various manually resisted positions that may be subjectively biased pending different circumstances. However, the VALD Performance System allows us to measure strength across multiple body parts and muscle groups, giving us objective data rather than relying solely on observation or subjective feedback.

What Is the VALD Performance System?

The VALD Performance system can assess strength in areas such as the hips, knees, ankles, shoulders, and upper extremities. By identifying side-to-side differences, muscle imbalances, or overall strength deficits, our therapists gain a clearer picture of how your body is functioning. This information is especially valuable following injury or surgery, but it’s also helpful for preventing future injuries and improving overall performance.

Strength Data

How Strength Data Helps Guide Treatment

Once we gather this data, it becomes a powerful guide for your personalized treatment plan. Instead of guessing which muscles need the most attention, we can target specific weaknesses and track measurable improvements over time. Patients often find it motivating to see clear progress in numbers, reinforcing that their hard work in therapy is making a real difference. Patients will also have the opportunity to view their reports with online access after completion of the testing.

Turning Results Into Progress

From there, we use these results to build customized exercise programs and therapeutic progressions. As your strength improves, we can reassess and safely advance your exercises to match your recovery and goals. This ensures your rehabilitation is not only effective, but also efficient — helping you return to daily activities, work, or sport with greater confidence and reduced risk of reinjury.
